Our Legacy in Coffee Production

The Ranzani Family Legacy

The Ranzani family embarked on their journey to Brazil in the late 18th century, driven by the promise of opportunity in a new beginning. Originally from Bressanvido, a small town in northern Italy. When they arrived in São Sebastião da Grama, SP, the Ranzani family consisted of fourteen siblings, all bound together by a strong sense of family and determination. It was not an easy transition—settling in a foreign country where language, customs, and landscapes were unfamiliar. Yet, through resilience, they adapted to the challenges and found their place in the agricultural tapestry of Brazil. They began as laborers on the coffee plantations and acquire experience to cultivate the quality coffee.

Establishing Bocaina Farm

After years of hardship, the Ranzani family’s efforts bore fruit. In 1918, they made their first major investment in Brazilian soil—the purchase of Bocaina Farm, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their family history. The farm, nestled in the montains surrounding São Sebastião da Grama, offered the perfect environment for growing coffee. The Ranzani family worked together, applying the techniques they had learned.

With Bocaina Farm as the foundation of their operations, the Ranzanis expanded over the years, acquiring more land as their expertise in coffee farming grew. The family’s dedication to excellence and their deep connection to the land became the hallmarks of their success.

A Legacy of Four Generations

Today, the Ranzani family is proud to be in its fourth generation of coffee growers. Each generation has inherited not only the knowledge and traditions of those who came before, but also the passion for producing coffee. We remain committed to maintaining the same high standards that have defined our family’s legacy for over a century.

At Café Bocaina, we are deeply rooted in the land and the community of São Sebastião da Grama, where our ancestors first established themselves. We honor their legacy by preserving the methods that have been passed down through the generations, while embracing modern advancements that help us bring the best of our coffee to a global audience. Our mission is to share the unique flavors and richness of our 100% Arabica coffee with the world, extending the Ranzani family's proud history far beyond the borders of Brazil.
